Alex wonderfully narrates his own story in the Audiobook version of this book. He's takes us through a range of emotions, from fear and regret to anticipation and excitement. Instead of hammering home the message of the 'third door' metaphor, he walks us through his experiences so we can see it for ourselves.
The 'Price is right' anecdote is the perfect keystone to this book's message. It shows perseverance to be noticed, grit in spite of rejection, creative thinking to get ahead and the power of leverage in doing what he couldn't have done alone.
Alex shows us that his struggles were genuine. He didn't have an unfair advantage and shows us that we don't need one too, which makes us wish him success as he battles through failures in order to get what he needs.
